Overview
level of study Level 0, 1, 2, 3, Master's and PhD level
time taken to complete Two 2-hour workshops

These workshops explore the branch of mathematics called calculus, more specifically integration which is the reverse process of differentiation. In the first workshop, we will look at techniques, which can be applied to many different problems, as well as learning a number of Standard integrals. We will also discover the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus, this shows how integrals and derivatives are linked to one another. In the second workshop we will build on what was covered in the first workshop and look at a technique called integration by parts. This technique is used to integrate the product of two functions; it can also be applied more than once to deal with problems that are more complex.

This course has now finished for this term. Please check back at the beginning of October for next term's dates.
