Faith at Swansea University
Multi Faith Chaplaincy
Our Multi–Faith Chaplaincy is managed by the Chaplaincy and Community Manager and University Chaplain (Christian) - Mandy Williams, our full time University Chaplain (Muslim) - Mohsen El-Beltagi and a team of four associate chaplains from across Swansea. Our Chaplains are available throughout your time in Swansea and are pleased to welcome you, whether you belong to any faith or none, to offer support and friendship.
Swansea University has an award-winning Mosque on Singleton campus, which is an integral part of life for most Muslim students. We have all of the facilities of a modern, well-equipped mosque, including:
•Separate prayer and washing facilities for men and women
•A meeting room
•A dedicated Islamic library
Our campus Mosque is a great way to enable students to mix with and befriend people from all over the world. It is this diversity that makes it such a unique and interesting place to be. The atmosphere of the mosque is also a suitable area for study for both overseas, and home students. Mr Mohsen El-Beltagi is the resident imam at Swansea University’s Mosque. The Mosque organises a wide range of activities alongside the Swansea University Islamic Society.
Other Faiths and Denominations
If your faith is not represented, the staff of the Chaplaincy will gladly help put you in touch with representatives of other faiths and denominations.
If you are concerned that your religious observance may clash with lectures, tutorials or examinations, the guidance notes explain what to do.
