Shut up and Write
Deadlines looming? Writer’s block? Shut up and write is a space for you to write in the company of other students and get that word count up. This session is inspired by a movement that started in San Francisco where writers get together in a café and focus for short bursts. Using the Pomodoro Technique of concentrating for a limited amount of time, this can be a highly-effective way of writing. Bring whatever essay you are working on and if you like, your laptop. The session is split into four 25-minute intervals with a short break for you to chat and gather your thoughts before going back for the next sprint. The session is open to everyone and you don’t need to sign up. A tutor will be on hand to help with any specific difficulties.
